Mike Norton, Director of Huntsville Operations

Mike Norton joined MBDA Inc. in 2011 where he managed the Engineering and Manufacturing operations for the Huntsville, Alabama location.    He is presently the Director of Huntsville Programs and is responsible for the Diamond Back ® Wing Assembly program.  In this assignment, he is strongly involved in shaping the relationship between MBDA Inc. and the Diamond Back® customer base as well as extending the applications for the program.

Prior to joining MBDA Inc., Mike spent 10 years with Northrop Grumman Corporation serving in several leadership roles that culminated in the Engineering and Manufacturing Manager for Northrop’s Electronic Sensors Sector facilities in Huntsville, Alabama.  From 2003 to 2006, he managed the Huntsville production facility’s integration to SAP.    In 2007, he formed and led a startup production team that was recognized for outstanding performance and contribution in specialized electromechanical manufacturing.

Mike earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama in 1990 and a Master’s degree from the University of Alabama – Huntsville in 1998.  He retired from the United States Army Reserve in 2007.  Mike is married with one daughter and serves his community as a Firefighter and Medic with the local Volunteer Fire Department.
