Recent conflicts have demonstrated the need for precision strike weapons that can operate night and day in all weather conditions against severe countermeasures and attack moving and maneuvering targets. Powered by a turbojet engine, SPEAR has the beyond horizon reach to ensure that the aircraft remains safely away from hostile air defense units.

Highly effective against air defense units, ballistic missile launchers, hardened structures, maneuvering vehicles, tanks, naval vessels, and more, SPEAR’s flexibility provides fourth-gen fighters with fifth-gen performance. Its precision leads to low collateral damage, while its beyond-horizon reach maximizes aircraft survivability in air-to-surface combat.

Technology

SPEAR is equipped with the latest generation precision effects warhead, designed to meet the demands of the future combat mission. The weapon will allow the warfighter to reduce the numbers of different weapons within inventory while also extending the operator’s ability to engage mobile, fleeting and re-locatable targets far beyond the horizon.

METEOR

REVOLUTIONIZING AIR-TO-AIR COMBAT

Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM) System

Meteor is the next generation of Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM) system designed to revolutionize air-to-air combat.

Guided by an advanced active radar seeker, Meteor provides all weather capability to engage a wide variety of targets from agile fast jets to small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and cruise missiles. It is designed to meet the most stringent of requirements and is capable of operating in environments with severe clutter and countermeasures.

Equipped with data link communication, Meteor meets the needs of a network centric environment. Meteor can be operated using third party data, enabling the Meteor user – the pilot – to have the most flexible weapon system.

Technology

Meteor’s stunning performance is achieved through its unique ramjet propulsion system – solid fuel, variable flow, ducted rocket. This ‘ramjet’ motor provides the missile with thrust all the way to target intercept, providing the largest No-Escape Zone of any air-to-air missile.

To ensure total target destruction, the missile is equipped with both impact and proximity fuses and a fragmentation warhead that detonates on impact or at the optimum point of intercept to maximize lethality.

With its advanced active radar seeker, Meteor engages current and future air targets, ranging from fast jets to UAVs and cruise missiles, day or night, in all weather and in severe electronic warfare environments. Meteor is network-enabled with a two-way data link.

The Meteor will equip Eurofighter Typhoon, Rafale and Gripen. It is also compatible with other advanced fighter aircraft and including the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter.

FLIGHT PROVEN EXTENDED RANGE

Weapon Range Extension

Diamond Back features a unique joined tandem wing design that extends the wings from a compact storage position. The deployed wings provide a diamond shaped platform with excellent maneuverability and glide characteristics.

The Diamond Back wing assembly has successfully demonstrated low-cost range extension technology that can triple the stand-off of air-launched stores providing more flexible mission options.

The unique wing assembly provides stand-off and cross-track maneuverability for a significantly expanded footprint for air-launched stores. The larger footprint not only provides additional survivability for the delivery aircraft but also allows delivery to multiple points from a single release point.

Diamond Back is currently in full rate production for the US Air Force Small Diameter Bomb and has been combat proven in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Technology

The Diamond Back wing assembly has been extensively tested, qualified, and combat proven for the GBU-39/B Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) weapon. Diamond Back has also been successfully demonstrated in flight on the extended range Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) BLU-109 weapon and the Focused Lethality Munition.

The integrated Diamond Back wing assembly is in full rate production for use on the US Air Force Small Diameter Bomb.

Air to Ground Weapon

Brimstone is a combat proven, low collateral, close air support weapon offering the unique capability of engaging a wide range of target types, including fast-moving vehicles / vessels in both land and naval environments and in both direct and indirect modes.

Operationally deployed in the Afghanistan and Libya conflicts, Brimstone has proved to be the weapon of choice with its ability to perform surgical strikes in time-critical missions with a true day / night capability.

  • Incorporating an advanced dual mode seeker, Brimstone is effective against the most challenging, high speed and maneuvering targets.
  • Effective from multiple platforms, including fighter-attack aircraft, propeller aircraft, helicopters, Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPAs), surface vessels, patrol craft
  • Proven anti-Fast In-Shore Attack Craft (FIAC) capability against single, multiple and swarming threats
  • Low risk of collateral damage – Brimstone’s pinpoint accuracy and focused, low fragmentation warhead

Technology

Combat aircraft armed with the Brimstone weapon offer reach, speed, flexibility, precision and the ability to engage multiple targets with a single mission load. When used from a fixed wing platform, Brimstone provides a rapid response for Close Air Support and Counter Insurgency that is not possible from helicopters alone.

Brimstones’s wide range of target types includes:

  • fast moving and manoeuvring vehicles,
  • tanks and armoured cars, bunkers,
  • naval vessels including swarming and individual Fast In-shore Attack Craft (FIAC).
