MBDA Incorporated Recognized with Prestigious Defense Industrial Security Award

MBDA Inc. today announced the company’s Arlington, Virginia headquarters was selected as one of only 39 facilities to receive the coveted James S. Cogswell Outstanding Security Achievement Award, the most significant honor the Defense Security Services (DSS) can confer to cleared industry partners of the Department of Defense.

The award recognizes companies who have demonstrated a commitment to meeting or exceeding essential National Industrial Security Program requirements.  Of over 13,300 cleared contractor facilities less than one percent are selected for this honor. To be eligible for the Cogswell award, an organization must achieve consecutive ratings of “superior” for industrial security reviews and demonstrate a sustained degree of excellence and innovation in overall program management, implementation and oversight of facilities and personnel.

We greatly appreciate this recognition.  This award reflects MBDA’s on-going commitment to protecting our country’s most sensitive information,” said John Pranzatelli, President & CEO of MBDA Inc.  “We’re proud to work with our government and industry partners to pursue the highest standards and best practices for comprehensive security.

The award was established in 1966 in honor of the late Air Force Col. James S. Cogswell, the first chief of industrial security within the Department of Defense. Cogswell was responsible for developing the basic principles of the Industry Security Program, which include an emphasis on the partnership between industry and government to protect classified information.
