METEOR: REVOLUTIONIZING AIR-TO-AIR COMBAT
With its advanced active radar seeker, Meteor autonomously engages current and future air targets, ranging from fast jets to UAVs and cruise missiles, day or night, in all weather and in severe electronic warfare environments. Meteor is network-enabled with a two-way data link and can be operated using third party targeting and target engagement.
METEOR IS EQUIPPED WITH A PROXIMITY AND IMPACT FUZE AND A FRAGMENTATION WARHEAD THAT DETONATES AT THE OPTIMUM POINT TO MAXIMIZE LETHALITY.
The missile will be integrated onto the Eurofighter Typhoon, Saab Gripen, and Dassault Rafale fast jets, and is a candidate weapon for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
Meteor successfully completed developmental firing trials in 2012 and MBDA began production deliveries in 2013.
